In her more than 15 years of service at Opportunity International, Simona Haiduc has served in a variety of roles at the organization. She currently leads the Opportunity International institutional business development team and is responsible for cultivating and creating business development strategies with government agencies, multilateral donor institutions, corporations and large foundations. Their work supports programs that unleash the power of entrepreneurs in the developing world, with a strong focus on women entrepreneurs and youth. Ms. Haiduc also served as Vice President of Program Management where she provided oversight to Opportunity US’ program and knowledge management teams. In this role she was responsible for supervising the planning, funds placement and management, monitoring, evaluation and learning activities for all major grants and partnerships with private and institutional donors. Prior to joining Opportunity in 2003, Simona managed the microfinance program for the Open Society/Soros Foundation in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. She holds a M.Sc. in Management of International Public Service Organizations from New York University, Wagner School of Public Service.
